Regular vitamin C is very unstable and many typical vitamin C products are inactive by the time they are used on the skin, in some cases, they have become pro-oxidant and actually generate free radicals! C-Tetra® contains 3% Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, the most potent and highly stable derivative of vitamin C available.
C-Tetra has been shown to have upto 4 times the potency L-ascorbic acid and other derivatives such as MAP (magnesium ascorbyl phosphate).

Tetrasubstituted Lipophilic Ascorbates are the holy grail of vitamin C derivatives and tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate (C-Tetra) is the leader in the class. Medik8 offer tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate in a very simple vehicle to ensure the absence of interference from other ingredients that would be present in a regular emulsion cream or gel. Contrary to the misguided assumptions of even some expert skincare formulators, adding more antioxidant types or just loading concentration of one antioxidant in a formula can actually reduce the antioxidant effect of the product. Medik8 antioxidants have been tested throughout development and Medik8 have patents pending on innovations following this pioneering antioxidant research.
C-Tetra activity has been strengthened by the addition of a natural form of vitamin E (d-alpha isomer). Natural vitamin E and vitamin C work together synergistically in order to stabilise and 'recharge' each other. They prevent each from oxidising when they are co-applied to the skin.
C-Tetra has been formulated for direct application to the face.
In the morning, after cleansing, apply 3-4 drops directly to the skin and blend evenly across the whole facial area, neck and décolleté. Alternatively, place a drop on your finger and massage into the skin. Leave to absorb for 2-3 minutes.
Follow with the application of Hydr8 SPF25 or your preferred SPF hydrator/sunscreen.
